Train Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Reno with Black Belt Professors Directly Under Master Renzo Gracie and John Danaher.

Head Professor Max McGarr

Professor Max is a Renzo Gracie black belt under Master Renzo Gracie and John Danaher in NYC. A two-time cancer survivor and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, Max has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 15 years with Master Renzo and John Danaher.

He has been teaching for 10 years and is a student favorite at the flagship Renzo Gracie Academy in NYC and will be teaching and supervising all classes at Renzo Gracie Academy Reno starting in this winter.

Why Renzo Gracie Reno?

At Renzo Gracie Reno, we teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Muay Thai, from beginner to advanced.

In BJJ classes, you will learn how to take an opponent down, gain dominant control, and render your opponent harmless – regardless of size, strength, or aggression.

Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and is known as the Art of Eight Limbs because it makes use of eight unique points of contact – punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes.

As a student, you will benefit from greatly increased physical fitness, increased confidence, problem-solving ability, and having a close social group of like-minded fellow students.

All our classes have a clean, friendly and motivating atmosphere. Safety is a top priority and proper control is emphasized during training.
